Campus Challenge is the name of an initiative by Amazon dedicated to universities and small and medium-sized businesses in the Peninsula. The first edition of the project is aimed at students who attend the 2019/2020 academic year and aims to reward ideas aimed at extending the business of companies thanks to the opportunities offered by the e-commerce.
If in the good period the objective of the Challenge is to stimulate the development of projects dedicated to e-commerce, the long-term strategy is instead based on increasing the opportunities for meetings between universities and the world of work. In this way the young people involved could have more opportunities in the future to find employment in innovative sectors.
The Campus Challenge is aimed at teams and those already registered would already be more than 100. Participation involves the passing of 4 phases divided into registration, company research, drafting of a business plan and sales launch. During this path the students will learn to start a business on Amazon and to sell the products of the companies to the customers of the platform.
At the end of the program there will be a presentation of the ideas implemented which will take place in 2020. A prize of 10 thousand euros is expected for the first-ranked team, while the second and third will receive 7 thousand and 5 thousand euros respectively. The teams in the competition must consist of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 5 people.
As far as students are concerned, the only condition for participating in the Campus Challenge is to be enrolled in an Italian university and available from October 2019 to May 2020. Companies contacted by competitors must be based in Italy and may not have marketed in the past own products on Amazon. More information on the official website of the initiative.
